Global privacy policy

Your information should remain under your control.

This policy explains the current UpCliq pilot and the privacy structure that will support additional countries and experiences.

Last updated July 30, 2026

1. Who this policy covers

This policy applies to UpCliq websites, progressive web applications and related services. UpCliq is operated by 1001477878 Ontario Inc., an Ontario corporation, with a registered address at 222 Main Street East, Milton, Ontario L9T 1N8, Canada. In this policy, “UpCliq,” “we,” “us” and “our” refer to 1001477878 Ontario Inc. Additional regional representatives will be identified where legally required.

2. Information we collect

  • Account information: name, email, password credentials managed by our authentication provider, age confirmation and account status.
  • Profile information: biography, interests, location or approximate location, professional details, links and activated experiences.
  • Connection activity: invitations, matches, messages, event participation, networking exchanges, reports and safety actions.
  • Content: photos, profile text and future optional audio or video messages.
  • Technical information: device, browser, IP address, security logs, session information and diagnostic events.
  • Future transactions: payment and order records when commerce launches. Payment card details should be handled by a payment processor rather than stored by UpCliq.

3. Sensitive information and separate experiences

Dating preferences, identity-verification information, precise location and some profile details may be sensitive. UpCliq is designed so Dating, Networking, Events and other experiences do not automatically share the same public profile. We use experience-specific visibility and consent controls.

4. Why we use information

  • Provide accounts, profiles, events, connections and requested features.
  • Authenticate users and protect the platform from fraud, abuse and unauthorized access.
  • Personalize introductions and recommendations where enabled.
  • Moderate content, investigate reports and enforce platform rules.
  • Communicate service, security and account information.
  • Measure reliability and improve accessibility and product performance.
  • Meet legal obligations and protect users, UpCliq and the public.

5. Legal bases

Depending on your location, processing may rely on performing our agreement with you, your consent, legitimate interests that do not override your rights, compliance with law, or protection of vital interests. Consent can be withdrawn where it is the applicable basis, although this may prevent use of an optional feature.

6. How information is shared

We share information with other users only according to the profile, event and connection choices you make. Contracted providers may support hosting, authentication, email, storage, security, analytics, moderation and future payments. Providers receive only the information needed for their role and are expected to protect it. We may disclose information when legally required or necessary to address serious safety threats.

UpCliq does not sell personal information for money. Before advertising or cross-context behavioural tracking is introduced, applicable notices and opt-out or consent controls must be added.

7. International transfers

UpCliq and its providers may process information outside your province, state or country. Regional safeguards, contractual protections and transfer assessments will be implemented where required. The countries used by each material provider will be documented before broad launch.

8. Retention

We retain information only for as long as needed for the purposes described here, including security, dispute resolution and legal requirements. Account deletion should remove or de-identify profile information subject to limited fraud, safety, financial or legal retention. A detailed retention schedule is being established before public launch.

9. Your choices and rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, export, restrict or object to processing; withdraw consent; opt out of certain targeted advertising or sales; and appeal or complain to a regulator. UpCliq will provide in-product request tools as the pilot develops. Until then, contact privacy@upcliq.net. We may verify your identity before completing a request.

10. Artificial intelligence and automated decisions

Future AI may assist with recommendations, writing, safety and moderation. UpCliq will disclose material AI use and provide human review where required. We will not rely solely on an automated decision for a significant legal or similarly important effect without appropriate notice, safeguards and a lawful basis.

11. Children

The current UpCliq pilot is for adults aged 18 or older. We do not knowingly permit children to create accounts. If we learn that an underage account exists, we may suspend it and delete associated information after completing necessary safety and legal checks.

12. Security

We use access controls, encrypted connections, database permissions, account verification, administrative audit records and controlled invitations. No service can guarantee absolute security. Users should use unique passwords and report suspected unauthorized access promptly.

13. Regional notices

Canada

Canadian users may request access and correction and may raise concerns about consent, appropriate purposes and safeguards. Provincial requirements may also apply.

European Economic Area and United Kingdom

Users may have GDPR or UK GDPR rights, including access, erasure, restriction, portability, objection and regulator complaints. Required controller, representative, transfer and lawful-basis details will be published before targeted launch in these regions.

United States

Rights vary by state and may include access, deletion, correction, portability and opt-outs from sale, sharing, targeted advertising or profiling. Applicable state notices and request methods will be activated as coverage requires.

14. Changes

We will post updates with a revised date. Material changes may be presented in the product and may require renewed acknowledgement or consent.
